Jerrabombera
This new-build house on a sloping site in Jerrabomberra, (outside Canberra) with magnificent views over rural farmland and the Brindebellas in the distance, is for a large family with a love of cars – 6 garages required! It is conceived in three parts: a linear element of grounded sandstone that becomes progressively more lightweight, bends to follow the site, and elevates to allow cars under. An extensive timber deck wraps around the living areas, and curves under the elevated bedroom wing to mark the point of arrival. A lightweight fly roof that contains the more formal living areas intersects the linear element, extends over the entry and kinks up to address the street.
